A good place for a bite to eat before or after you start your canal boat holiday from our base at Acton Bridge. This dog-friendly inn (inside and outside) serves Robinson ales and comfort food, plus there is a garden and play area to make it super family friendly. Great reviews for the food and the service.

Head north from our base at Acton Bridge, approx 2 hours cruising.
Family and dog friendly pub a short walk from the Bridgewater Canal into Moore. Outside and inside dining offering a range of beers, ciders and ales. Themed food evenings – Wednesday is pie night, Thursday is steak night. Great reviews for the food and service. Open from midday til 11pm.

Head north along the Bridgewater Canal from our base at Acton Bridge, approx 3 hours cruising.
This fashionable 19th century pub, part of the Vintage Inn chain, with old meets new decor serves upmarket meals, wines and cask ales. It’s a very short walk from the Bridgewater canal and there’s a large garden for eating out. The staff, service and food gets great reviews.

This family-friendly pub over looks the Bridgewater Canal with an attractive terrace and picturesque view and serves home-cooked British and European dishes. There are a good selection of beers on offer and the place is highly recommended for the friendly service and food. The large outdoor beer garden is a draw and dogs are welcome.

Enjoy a short walk from the Bridgewater canal into Thelwall and you’ll come to the Pickering Arms, which dates back to the 16th century. The menu features classic dishes including burgers, fish and chips and homemade pies, along with exciting local and seasonal specials. Apparently the Traditional Sunday Roast and homemade pies are legendary! There is also a wide range of cask ales, wines at sensible prices and premium spirits.They have a large garden terrace which is dog and family friendly.
